DXF Files for Silhouette, Laser & CNC

Every cut file with a DXF included — for Silhouette Studio Basic, LightBurn, xTool, Glowforge and CNC routers. Same hand-checked vectors as our SVGs, exported in millimetres with closed paths and one layer per colour.

DXF designs are being added — check back soon.

Most DXF downloads on the web are auto-traced and full of open paths, duplicate lines and tiny fragments that make a laser stutter. Ours come from cleaned Illustrator vectors: strokes expanded, paths closed, stray points removed, colours merged — then exported to DXF R12 polylines, the most compatible flavour.

DXF questions

Why DXF instead of SVG?

Silhouette Studio Basic Edition cannot open SVG, and many laser and CNC programs (LightBurn, xTool, Glowforge alternatives) prefer DXF. Every cut file here ships with a DXF (R12 polyline format, millimetre units) that opens everywhere.

Are the DXF files scaled correctly?

Yes. The DXF is exported in millimetres at the size listed on the design page, so a 250 × 200 mm design opens at 250 × 200 mm. Rescale freely — it is vector.

Do DXF files keep colours or layers?

DXF stores outlines, not fills. Each colour of the original is placed on its own DXF layer so you can cut them separately; for colour information use the SVG or PNG in the same ZIP.

Are the free designs also available as DXF?

Yes — every free design includes its DXF download link on the design page.
