Three cattails rise from a clump of marsh grass: tall straight stems, thick rounded seed heads at staggered heights, each tipped with a fine spike, and long arching blades sweeping out to both sides. The look is quiet and rustic, the edge of a pond in late summer. Cut it for lake house signs, fall farmhouse decor, duck hunting shirts, nature-themed cards, window decals and layered paper scenes.
Single colour and one cut layer, with the grass blades all connected at the base so nothing floats loose. Those blade tips and the spikes above each seed head are hair-thin, so keep it at 5 inches or taller and cut on a fresh blade.
