Seven pointed basil leaves fan out from a single center in a loose rosette, each filled solid with fine hand-drawn veins and a pale midrib running its length. Two small young leaves sit at the heart of the cluster. The feel is botanical but bold, closer to a woodcut than a watercolor. Use it for kitchen wall signs, herb jar labels, apron vinyl, tea towels, pantry storage decals and garden marker stakes.
Single color, one cut layer, with the veins cut as thin negative slivers — that detail is what makes it read as drawn rather than stamped. Below about 4 inches the veins start to tear, so keep it large in vinyl and larger still in cardstock. Weed the veins first with a fine hook, working inside out. Sits well beside the other leaf and herb cut files.
