A single rose stands inside an open heart outline, its layered bloom filled deep red with pale swirl lines at the center, black outer petals, a long stem and two veined leaves reaching toward the sides of the heart. The mood is romantic and a little tattoo-flash. Cut it for a Valentine's card front, an anniversary shirt, a vinyl mug or tumbler, a wedding sign, or a layered paper shadow box.
Two color layers do the work: black for the heart frame, petals and leaves, red for the bloom center, with thin white slivers left as negative space. Those slivers and the rose swirls are the delicate part, so stay at 5 inches or larger. Weed the inside of the heart first, then the petal gaps with a fine hook. Pairs naturally with the other rose and faith heart-frame designs.
