A praying mantis stands in profile with its triangular head turned toward you, two long curving antennae reaching up, and its spiked front legs folded and lifted in the classic pose. A slender neck runs back to a long tapered wing case, with two walking legs bracing the body. Great for an entomology t-shirt, a garden gate sign, a terrarium or insect tank label, a naturalist's journal cover, a tote bag or a classroom science display.
One colour, one cut layer, and the whole shape is outline-driven with no interior colour work. The antennae and the leg tips are hair-thin, so cut at 6 inches or larger in adhesive vinyl and use a fresh blade; at smaller sizes trim the antennae or cut in cardstock instead. Lift the antennae last with transfer tape. Pairs with the dragonfly, beetle and butterfly silhouettes.
