A horned owl standing in profile, head turned to face you: tufted ears, a white face disc split by a dark beak, round yellow eyes with black pupils, speckled chest marks and a long wing drawn with curved white feather tips down to a pointed tail. Moody and a little watchful rather than cartoonish. Works for a bookish tote, a fall porch sign, a nursery or den shirt, a school-spirit hoodie, a Halloween mug or a wood plaque.
Build it in three layers - black body, white face and chest marks, yellow eyes - each a closed welded path with no strokes. The feather flicks and chest speckles are the delicate parts, so 5 in tall is a sensible floor in vinyl and 6 in in cardstock or HTV. Reverse-weed the white marks and use transfer tape to keep them placed. Sits well beside other woodland animal cut files.
