A praying mantis in side profile, body angled upward, with its spined front legs folded in the familiar raised pose, a triangular head with two long sweeping antennae, and a long tapered wing case marked by a thin cut line. Striking and a little scientific in feel. Works for an entomology shirt, a laptop or water bottle decal, a nature-study notebook cover, a bug-themed nursery sign, or a framed paper-cut insect print.
Single color, no layering. The antennae are hairline-thin and the saw teeth on the forelegs are small, so cut at 6 inches or larger; below that the antennae are likely to lift with the weeding. Matte black permanent vinyl or HTV suits the silhouette best — weed the antennae last and lay transfer tape slowly along their length. Sits well with the other insect and animal silhouettes.
