A heron standing tall in profile, neck folded into a soft S curve, long tapered beak forward, a small white eye, layered wing feathers ending in points and thin stilt legs planted on splayed toes. Calm and coastal in feel, it suits lake house and marsh decor. Use it on a wood sign, a canvas tote, a fishing or birding shirt, a linen pillow, a stoneware mug or a framed paper cutout.
Single color, one cut layer, with the beak tip, leg joints and feather lines already thinned to fine points. The legs and toes are the weak spot, so cut at 5 inches tall or more in vinyl and use a new blade with slow speed. Weed the legs last and use transfer tape to lift the whole bird. Navy or sage vinyl reads well. Groups nicely with the hippo and hedgehog silhouettes.
