A single upright foxglove stem in solid black: four open trumpet blooms with speckled throats sit mid-stem, a tapering spike of closed buds crowns the top, and four broad veined leaves fan out low on the stalk. The style is botanical woodcut, tall and slender. Cut it for greeting cards, framed wall art, tote bags, tea towels, tumbler decals or a cottage garden shirt.
One solid cut layer in a single color, so there is no registration to line up. The bud tips, the flower speckles and the leaf veins are the fine parts, so keep the stem at least 5 inches tall in vinyl and 6 inches in cardstock. Weed the inner veins first with a fine hook. Sits nicely alongside the other floral stems.
