A single cosmos bloom sits inside a hand-drawn heart outline, its eight ruffled petals ribbed with fine white lines and its stippled center circled by tiny dots. Two feathery leaves branch off the stem, which runs down to the point of the heart. Romantic but botanical. Cut it for wedding and anniversary signs, tote bags, greeting cards, nursery wall art, wood plaques or a layered gift box lid.
One solid color throughout, with the petal veins and the dotted flower center as tiny negative-space pieces. That stippled middle is the test: 5 inches or larger in vinyl keeps every dot intact, and below that use card stock or simplify the center. Weed the dots first with a fine pick. Pairs with the other cosmos cuts.
