A humpback whale seen from the side, tail lifted and the two long pectoral flippers stretched down and forward. Fine white lines trace the pleated throat grooves, and small bumps run along the snout and flipper edges. The mood is calm and nautical, more illustration than cartoon. One colour, one cut layer, with the throat grooves and tubercle dots cut as negative space. Those grooves are the fine part, so keep the whale at 6 inches wide or more; below that they start to lift.
