A long snake winds into three loose S-coils, its head lifted at the top with a narrow eye, jaw scales and a slim forked tongue flicking out. Etched scale marks and hatched shading run the length of the body, with pale belly bands catching the curve of each turn. The mood is bold, inky and tattoo-flash. Everything is one welded silhouette in a single color, so there is nothing to align — but the scale hatching and tongue are very fine. Cut at 7 inches or larger and use a new fine-point blade with slow speed; below that, simplify or size up. Weed the interior scale marks from the center outward.
