A classic mortarboard sits at a slight angle, its flat square top meeting a banded crown below, with a small ring button at the center and a cord running to a long fringed tassel that hangs off the right edge. Clean white lines suggest the fold and the brim. Use it for a graduation party sign or centerpiece, a class-of shirt, announcement and congratulations cards, gift box toppers, or a photo-booth prop.
Single-color silhouette with the highlight lines cut out as thin negatives. The tassel fringe is the fine part — keep it at 3 in or larger so the strands separate cleanly, and weed the narrow brim lines with a hook. Cardstock, adhesive vinyl and iron-on all handle it; add a second color behind the cap if you want a school-colors look. Pairs with the script number and year files for a class-of layout.
