A little gnome stands facing forward under a tall pointed hat that flops over at the tip, its brim hiding the eyes so only a round nose, a curling mustache and a long flowing beard show. A dark coat, two small hands and chunky boots finish him off. Cozy and folk-art in feel, he works on a tiered tray sign, a shirt or sweatshirt, a kitchen towel, a tote bag, a porch sign or a wood round ornament.

The beard is drawn with fine hairline strokes and the hat carries two slim highlight slivers, which makes this a detail-heavy cut best kept at 6 inches tall or more. Two colors read well: dark vinyl for hat, coat and boots with cream or white for the beard, nose and hands. Weed the beard lines slowly from the outside in with a weeding tool, and pair him with other gnome and seasonal cut files for a shelf display.
